Beauty Category Introduction

You might have noticed the shared silence in the beauty space if you stayed around after dramageddon. The silence was partially from a decline in interest from the viewers and, correspondingly, less beauty-related content. As well as the pandemic, it affected many people and businesses in many ways. We saw company after company closing as they could no longer sustain themselves in an oversaturated market with the increased cost of resources resulting in higher prices. My interest in beauty has decreased since the pandemic’s beginning (2018). Around this time, I felt the content needed to be more varied, and I didn’t find the need to purchase things as often during the lockdown in Canada. Normally, I like to discover brands online and look into them before buying them but with measures being lifted and less time spent at home. As a result, I find myself more drawn to spending, especially with how heavily consumerism is pushed on us. I can’t be the only one who loves watching or reading a product review before making a purchase.

Why Clothes Mindset?

Hello, and welcome to the first blog post in the beauty category. I know what you’re thinking “but Martha, what makes your blog so different?” Well, keep reading. Like many women in their mid-20s, I love makeup as an expression and art form. Therefore, I love creating the best version of myself, whether with skincare with a full face of makeup or through hair and nails. Although Clothes Mindset is not a beauty blog exclusively, I want to use this space as a Canadian blogger whose interests include beauty, hair, and skincare outside of other topics.

I’m using this post to introduce the topics I want to discuss and give examples of what I would post.

I want to share content related to makeup, skincare, hair, and nails:

• Product Reviews
• My Favourite Products
• Makeup looks
• Wish list and brand recommendations

As I purchase these items moderately, they will be less featured in my content.
